GETTING HERE & GETTING AROUND
If you're heading up from the city, it's a super easy and convenient commute on NJ TRANSIT, on the COACH USA/SHORTLINE bus line, or a short car ride to either Suffern & Sloatsburg.
IN SUFFERN...
Hikers who take the train or bus in will find painted trail blazes that lead right up to the Suffern-Bear Mountain trail head.
Drivers will find ample parking. Click HERE and scroll down to the bottom for lot info. The trail head is located across from the northern tip of Lot D.
IN SLOATSBURG...
The southern entrance to Harriman State Park is located on Seven Lakes Drive. The train is approximately one mile from Reeves Meadow. It's absolutely walkable but Rockland buses do serve the community with stops along Seven Lakes Drive.
The Sloatsburg commuter lot is open for visitors. Sloatsburg is poised to add parking in the near future. As a corridor community with Route 17 as its main street, the village center business district is pedestrian friendly.
